As I grew up reading Iron Age Marvel comics, a proliferation of Super-Apes actually disinclines me to take part in a setting. That said the figures are really nice and the system looks interesting.

It is perfectly possible to play using no apes. :)

Possible, but why would you want to? :)

Ah, I've always heard that called the Dark Age.

Also sometimes called Bronze Age; there isn't really a clear consensus.

My comic shelf is filled with Ultimate Marvel, Frank Miller Batman, The Punisher and Alan Moore.

...what can I say? I like depressing realism with my superheroes.

...that said, a Next Wave Super System team may be on the horizon.

[shameless plug]I have to admit to becoming a big fan of the Pulp City game and its minis. So much so that I have started a blog (Pulp Citizen - click for link). feel free to take a look.[/shameless plug]

Nothing beats a big ape with a big gun right?

If you do that, I beg you to post pictures (I've been kicking the idea around for a while now, but gotten a bit stumped on minis - there's a heroclix multiple man in a nice jacket that would work, plus the unique machine man that was sculpted for a heroclix tournament, but beyond that I pretty much struck out...)

Machine Man (call him Aaron) is about the hardest one in the set to get right. Fortunately as miniature sculptors tend not to have great taste in clothing, there is a proliferation of figures in trench coats out there that may be suitable as well as a girl in a short skirt for Tabby.

A very nifty looking game and system. One of the sculptors has occasionally done work for Black Army. My only objection is that the game has absolutely nothing to do with "Pulp", and is another case of the gaming industry using a word well past its meaning... but still..

...gotta love them monkeys...
