Hello,

That's funny because I have the same project and I am looking for suitable miniatures for Left 4 Dead

Here is what I came up with :

Zoey = Hasslefree's Kitty or Sadie (b), not sure yet.
Rochelle = Hasslefree's Kendra.
Ellis = EM4 - Male rebel with assault rifle or Copplestone Future Wars FW21 citizen militia 2.
Nick = EM4 or Copplestone men in black
Francis = Hasslefree's Joe (with a chopped crest)
Louis = Hasslefree's Ken
Coach = Hasslefree's Tony (just remove the cap) or EM4 thug

Now if Copplestone, EM4 and Hasslefree miniatures are compatible in size it's hard to find a suitable miniature for Bill.

My first idea was Ernesto from Reaper but he is one head taller than the Hasslefree miniatures :

The other option is the Gripping Beast Royal Marines :

http://grippingbeast.com/product.php?ItemID=577

Another idea : The Redstar CWC001 Chechens advancing :

http://www.redstarminiatures.eu/shop_chechen.html

The best would be the SAS 1 set from Empress Miniatures :

http://www.empressminiatures.com/userimages/procart32.htm

Just replace the hat with a beret. And the guy kneeling with the cap could be Ellis (2 suitable miniatures in one pack).

Now the problem deals with the special zombies.

From left to right : charger, hunter, spitter, jockey, tank, witch, boomer, smoker.

here is what I found for the charger, the witch and the boomer (boss zombies from Tengu Models):

http://www.tengumodels.co.uk/userimages/procart2.htm

The Hasslefree mutant Grant could be a charger as well.

For the tank, the best would be Hasslefree's Joe Mutant as the Frothers Unite tanks are oop. A ADD clay Golem could fit too.

The witch could also be any female zombie.

Here are the hunters : Black cat ghouls.

http://blackcatbases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=437_492&products_id=2133

The smoker could be the Helldorado demon :

Any ideas for the zombies ? I have no clue for the jockey and the spitter.

All zombies ideas are welcome.

I wish I were an octopus to paint more miniatures...Cthulhu must be a great painter

Saw this on TMP, and thought of it when you showed Tank.

I don't have the game, so am no judge.

From the piccie  you posted, I keep thinking of a character from Ninja Scroll, but that's no help.  :D

Frother's Zed set from 2010 has two tanks so sorted if you have the set. Jockey, charger & witch already covered by Cheetor (check the threads god damn it! ;)).

Spitter: use the tengu female character zed and elongate the neck.
Now water can flow....or water can crash...be water my friend.

"Frother's Zed set from 2010 has two tanks so sorted if you have the set." - Are they still available, Cmdr? I thought they for for a limited time only.

"Jockey, charger & witch already covered by Cheetor." - Here's a linky for YIU.

"Spitter: use the tengu female character zed and elongate the neck." - I concur.

YIU - "the guy kneeling with the cap could be Ellis.." - He would be good!!! Ellis is always snatching up those sniper rifles!
You also have some good "Bill" ideas too! Hell, they are all good ideas!!!

I'm thinking about using HorrorClix Hungry Bertha...
http://www.trollandtoad.com/p161715.html
and HeroClix Blob...
http://www.trollandtoad.com/p107031.html
for Boomers. Just add green stuff here and there.

Some of my previous fun with Bertha...

As you can see it would not take much to make here a Boomer.

Thanks Warrenss2. I didn't know this other thread and it's great. I love the converted jockeys and chargers.

Horroclix minis could be good for chargers too.

Frother's zombies sets are no longer available since january 2010...it's a shame they always sell miniatures for a very short time (3 months). Sometimes Hasslefree casts some of them but the tanks are not in their pipeline I think.

Any other ideas for Bill, the veteran ?

OMG!!  :o

Those two a darn near perfect for Zoey & Ellis!!

I'm also looking at some of their minis for the Zombieland movie cast.

My players love seeing movie personalities in our games!!! It is a requirement that all players start whistling the A-Team theme song when they arrive on the table in BA's van.

As Hasslefree miniatures are smaller than Reaper ones why not Maria or Kitty for Little Rock ?

I have all Studio Miniatures...except these ones. I think the Reaper ones are far better for Zombieland.

Which miniatures did you finally use for Left4Dead ?

Reaper are out of scale with hasslefree as they often end up at 32mm rather than true 28mm of hasslefrassel, (remember scale is all over not just height).

You are right and I avoid mixing them but some Hasslefree miniatures can be used as children (that's what I will do for Zombieland). Some others like Ken are tall enough to mix with Reaper.

The issue with most of the potential Tank figures I see is one of size: they seem almost the same size as the humans when they should feel HUGE. I'm starting to get on a Blood Bowl kick again, and I ran across these guys who might be a good start for a conversion for a L4D Tank mini:

Thoughts?
