The Pulp Sci-Fi Title-O-Tron

Retropolis was already awesome, and now they've come out with Cornelius Zappencackler's Derange-O-Lab Pulp Sci-Fi Title-O-Tron for your deranged pulp story titling needs!

Despite the "sci fi" in the name, there's goodness here for those of us who do non-Sci-Fi pulp too. League of the Wind... The Tale of the Autogyro... Slaves of the Dinosaur Clan... and those three from just one spin of the Title-O-Tron!

There's lots of other good stuff on Retropolis, too. Check it all out.

Great find!

Among the more elaborate and evocative titles it produced, such as 'Avenged by the Plant Men of the Stone', and 'Entombed by the Weapon of Mercy'.  It came up with 'The Obedient Test Tubes of the Future', and 'The Music of the Parrot'  lol

Awesome :)

I really want to read the following:

The World of the Dolphin Corsairs
The Dancing Cat King
The Scarlet Cavern of Paradox
Slaves of the Terrible Egg

let alone play games of them.

Oh great, I love these.

I'd definitely be interested in Penguin Patrol of the Gods. Hell, if I had a band, that's what I'd call them.

Anyway, amongst the random and rubbish (the best of which are The Mist of the Squirrel Vikings, Vanquished by the Ivory Squid and Menaced by the Mental Whale) we have

The Sleeping World of Ganymede - that's a winner for a 1930s sci-fi tale.

Trapped by the Miniature Lizard - this sounds hilarious.

The World of the Clockwork Sorcerer - again, a great title for some old school scientifical fantasmagoria.

The Altar of Kaluta's Crater - now you're just being all 1960s

The Prophet of Jupiter's Crater - a hit I think

Gallegher's Wolf Children - again, I can see this on a shelf in the 'Sci-Fi/Fantasy' section of Waterstones.

Forgotten by the Repairman of the Time Machine deserves honourable mention as a rubbish but still intriguing title.

Must resist the urge to post links to random name/plot/book-title generating sites...

This is a great resource! I already have in mind a whole set of games/campaigns that have been inspired by the Title-O-Tron.

I didn't resist, sorry.

One of my favourites (because it has about a bazillion generators on it) is Seventh Sanctum, found here
but particularly (as this is Pulp), the B-Move Generator, here.

When I navigated to it, the B-Movie Title it gave me was 'The Kraken' (weird, as I got China Mieville's 'Kraken' out of the library this afternoon). Then it gave me:
Earthquake!
Evil Bride
The Bat-Man from Heaven
The Secret of The Abominable Vampire
The Terrible Love of Vengeance

and now I'm going to spend half an hour at Seventh Sanctum playing with random generators...

I have just wasted half-hour, my favourite was 'Offspring of The Abominable Dog-Women' and 'The Gorilla-Men Destroyed' came a close second!

Both sites saved in favourites now!
