15mm scale Pygmies?
« on: August 31, 2010, 07:32:57 PM »
While looking for suitable figures for a particular conversion, I started with a thought to using gorillas, but, on seeing some 25mm scale pygmies, realized they might be far more apropos. The ones I'm looking at have long arms, short bowed legs, and wearing loin cloths.

Does anyone know of 15mm pygmies? Particularly useful poses would include arms outstretched, something I see in figs representing tribal shaman. These would be good as the masks come separate, a bit of a bother if already attached.

I've been trolling several manufacturers without success so far; I'll admit, some sites are really difficult to drill down until you get a proper list and/or piccie, but I have tried.

Any pointers appreciated!

Doug

If you are not bothered by sex have a look at

from Khurasan Miniatures (link)

I may need to edit the first sentence of this post thinkings about it  :D

Cogent thought about rewording; I'm always bothered ABOUT sex... ;->=

I'd forgotten the likelihood of a potbelly; appropriate, but the shaman I had seen were relatively skinny. Also, the 'tops' don't work as well for my idea. Still, darn close, and unless I can do better, may well have to suffice.

Thanks, AndrewBeasley, for excellent suggestion!

Doug,

If you find 15 mm pygmies, I'd love to hear about it.  I knew about the Khurazan Courtesans and might get some someday but they're not really pygmies - and their stature is probably to big (more workable as 25 mm pygmies I'm guessing).  I've been trying to find some for years.  It is a strange oversight in 15 mm colonials.  You'd think some one would have them out by now.

@FifteensAway
I fear  you've put a pin to my balloon; if you've already been searching, and it sounds quite seriously, I doubt my chances.

I may have to look for a 6mm giant ape...  lol

How about 10mm Zulu figures?

I know Pendraken list them but I have not seen them.

Certainly worth a look; thanks!

Edit: If anyone can point me to some images of these, or the aboriginals from the Plains Wars, I'd be most grateful.
