* Belgian joins the ranks
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:33:44 AM »
Hi, with this new competition I was unable to resist the urge of terrainbuilding! However the last competition attempt is still not finished I'm now officially joining this new competition in a desperate attempt to finish another terrainpiece.

This time, I will built an african magical/ spiritual gateway to the other world. I will try to recreate the plasma inner core of the famous stargate and the gate self will be decorated with african jars, gifts, ... More fluff will follow soon, at last here's a picture of the started project.

I hope you like it,

Some new progress is made, I've covered the base with a mixture of polystryn and bark and coated the entire piece with plaster,fine stones, sand and PVA. I also decided to add a tree which will recive a foliage made out of steel wool and flock.

Still not sure how I will add the plasmatic core of the gate. (I currently tried 3 different manners but they aren't looking good)

I hope you like the piece.

You could try Styrene sheet "water" cut into a circle and glued in the middle, like this:

http://www.plastruct.com/pages/OnlineProductDetail.lasso?-op='eq'&CCode=WPSB-208

They have still, agitated, and choppy water effect sheets.  Cuts with scissors.  Easy and relatively cheap.
This is my boomstick!

When I first looked at the picture, it seemed very strange, I thought the flowers were in the frame somehow not on the background. I thought there was some kind of transparent sheet with a flower picture... I was thinking, no wonder he wants to turn such a weird ornament into some terrain piece!  lol

I'm sorry, I'm shockingly stupid at times, do carry on!

Hi, here's a picture of my spiritual gateway now with the plasma core in place! Not sure what I will do next? Will I paint the wood or not? I quite like the natural color but I'm not sure it will match the piece and my other terrain?

@ Bezzo, thanks for the comment!

I hope you like the piece

Great, this is the second time I haven't managed to finish an entry on time.  >:(

Well next time...
