Quick and to the Pointless
« on: September 05, 2010, 02:12:53 PM »
I tried my luck with some historical miniatures painting:

Haven't given it the magic matt varnish yet.

Now what on Earth could I possibly use this for? Well.. I'm sure this year's Christmas scenario will tell.  lol

Feel free to vent your steam and historical indignation.

You've done the uniform pretty well, although I think the rifle's the wrong shade of blue.
It is supposed to be a Zulu warrior, right?  ::)
I told you so. You damned fools.

Oh… I like the "beetle" water bottle ;)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

May I point out that this is the FIRST WWII miniature that does not bore me to death!

Great paint job and, ahem, at least in my opinion, particularly well executed.

Something in me tells me that Doomhippie should better not see this.

Austin Powers vs the swinging Nazis of St. Moritz. Could be a fabulous Kiss Kiss bang bang scenario.

You see children, this is what happens when you use solvents without proper ventilation.
Don't!

This is the later issue uniform right?  Shouldn't the rifle strap be more of a purple color?  I don't have this particular Osprey book or I'd verify it myself.

I don't know.
The camouflage jacket really fits in well with the bush in the back ground. lol
So well you can hardly make out the soldier.
Either that or my eyes have just been dazzeled by all the bright colours o_o

Thy will be done. I have about 2308 Black Tree WWII miniatures... and I've already painted all I can bear in the correct fashion. So a Hawaiian Death Squad Cult seems proper.
