Any female model on the table can be raped and any male model on the table can be killed. Oh, so terrible games we play..

More correctly "Any model can be raped and any model on the table can be killed". Yet they are all female captives?

I can't speak for everyone, but the subtle difference is that none of the above are depicted by models in my games.

I wouldn't buy figures that are shown to have been dismembered as a result of being shot or shelled, nor would I buy these figures to represent captives. Hypocritical of me perhaps, but that's how I feel.

Making love must not be rape. Not all of us play only war.

killing is a crime. War is just a legalized crime.
And that is just a straw man argument.

carlos marighela, I don't need any logical reason to sculpt something otherwise my wish. I love semi-naked restrained girls and I sculpt it.

and something (maybe, quantity of sales) tell me, that much of the rest of the world didn't moved beyond that point, hehe.

Like I said earlier, creepy.

I must say I had forgotten the many fourteen year olds in death metal t-shirts and weird middle aged onanists in the market for miniatures, possibly because they don't seem so evident on this site. Thanks for reminding me.

Seems like many people do not like this last release, and apparently many other do.

But now the tone of some users is becoming offensive, regarding to some users, wifes and their lifestyles and audience. Probably Vinni is not the most diplomatic person i've seen around here, but he didn't break any forum rule, and you people insulted him.

Frankly, i think that this is not in the spirit of LAF. We are all gentlemen here. (and gentlewoman, of course... my English vocabulary has a leak here, sorry!)

Cheers

Jack

While I find the miniatures and the implication of them somewhat tasteless, the fact is that there are many wargamers on here who even play wargames set in Afghanistan, a conflict that's still going on, in which people are suffering hugely. Where do you draw the line? The reality of war is horror, and we game it. I know people who refuse to play any historical games because they can't get past the fact that people actually died. Even as far back as the retreat of the Lancastrians at Towton, the human element is that people were running in abject terror while armoured victors rode them down like cattle and slammed picks through their skulls. Yet here one of our finest painters made a diorama of such things. I'm not saying that miniatures and wargames should start featuring rape etc but ultimately we derive entertainment from the implication of human suffering (in most cases, during war and battle). To get so up in arms about these figures strikes me as slightly hypocritical.

In the absolute spirit of this fine forum, though, I invite and wholly encourage disagreement, but we can all stay polite and stop this thread being locked. That would ultimately serve no one.

no problem. I'm glad, that I can remind carlos marighela about middle aged onanists. They are part of our world too!  >:D

Mind your posts, people, or I'll soon have a reason to purge posts or lock the thread.

While I don't have any use for these, I am not offended by the subject.
Maybe naming them prisoners of war was a bad choice (specialy for advertising them here.)
Post-apocalyptic slaves would have been a better title IMO.

Their name is "Prisoners of war", if they were called post-apocalyptic slaves everybody understant it is a game, calling them ""Prisoners of war" means they are linked to real war violence and not to wargame.
They are not offensive because of are half-naked women (that is not a problem, we live in a free world and women can use their body as they like) they are offensive because they are an Icon of raped women.

My intention was not to offend anybody in the forum. Maybe I say You, your whife ... but that "you" was an impersonal subject, "absolutely not" an offence peronally to Vinni ... my english is poor so maybe I used not correct word. Sorry.
