[Nap] What figs to use as bandits?
« on: September 20, 2010, 11:48:55 PM »
I have a scenario where bandits attack a courier at a bridge. Yes, I can use Spanish Guerrillas, but most have muskets.

I am aware that Front Rank has guerrillas with pistols. Four versions with just a head change, so that's a possibility. But I'd like more variety.

Also, Redoubt has a few figs that might work:

I don't want the crazy Spaniard in uniform and bicorn.

Are there any other figs brandishing knives and/or pistols that would be suitable as Napoleonic *bandits*? Hooligans more than guerrillas?

Thanks

Chuck

Maybe some pirates might work.

Yes, pirates / sailors with some head swaps is the first thing that springs to mind. Some of your bandits might be deserters, so maybe a ragged looking soldier or two thrown in would work also.

You might find some useful figures in Blue Moon's "Swashbucklers, Rogues, and Desperadoes" line [url][http://www.bluemoonmanufacturing.com/index.php?cat_id=11/url] although most would appear to be too early for Napoleonics.

There are a couple of pistol and melee weapon-armed guys in Malamute's (Boot Hill Miniatures) Texian Adventurers packs. 1830s Mexico, but not a huge difference in fashions to Napoleonic times. Conversion potential if nothing else, maybe.

Eureka has some very nice Tirolians and foundry has some revolutionary Mob. Both might work.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went through my hundreds of Foundry pirate swordsmen and found a few that would work until I find better.

The Bruisers and ruffians from Redoubts three musketeer range would possibly work ,peasant type clothing armed with clubs etc.
