15mm Mogadishu Game - Blackhawk Down
« on: September 29, 2010, 05:47:31 PM »
I ran a blackhawk down game at my local con last weekend. I'll probably have an AAR out later this week on my blog, but I thought I would share a bunch of pics I uploaded to flickr for now. They are more or less in order and give an idea of how the game went.

PS. I still have some work to do on the game. The cars are not yet distressed, I need alot more junk piles laying around, and not all of the buildings are quite done. But it was far enough along to run.

That's an outstanding game, clearly a huge amount of work.  Well done and thanks for sharing.

I agree some more dirt and rubble will really add to the effect - I would suggest your terrain cloth would benefit from a scatter of dirt/rocks scenic material all around the buildings (if that isn't too much cleaning up for afterwards).  The book also mentions cacti, trees and other foliage, so you might want to up the vegetation slightly.

Anyway, thanks again, a real visual treat.

Yep. Still needs all of the above. I think I am probably going to paint all of the small detail on the ground cloth rather than use scatter. Also thought about making "block" bases out of MDF that would have alot of that sort of detail on them and help better define the streets.

Very nice work, brilliant table and a cracking collection of models, thanks for sharing it.

Cheers
