New icons of Cthulhu
« on: October 05, 2010, 08:08:48 AM »
Hi all, these are still not quite finished yet but at a stage where I'm happy to
get them up and get some feedback.

A lot of folk said to keep the icons seperate before - but I had other ideas for that set!
With these I've made 4 seperate ones that go together to make one larger piece. The pattern
also tesselates so you could make a temple floor etc with them.

The four individual pieces

The four together forming the Necronomicon seal

Close up of the right arm to show the detailing behind the seal and out on the arm

Close up of the top piece the arms all have square tablets on them with arcane scribbles
and it's these that still need to be finished off

These are being sent to Geronimo when done for the Frothers Cthuludo and also for general
release.

Cheers all,

CrumbReaper

Looking really nice (if that's a word we can associate with Cthulhu!). I bought a bunch of ball bearings off ebay (hey, it's not just for lead!) and will be attempting something with 'eyes' for the Frothers sculpt.

Yowee, the fact that the complex shape tesselates is just AMAZINGLY cool !

Wow, that is great. Love the way it joins up for the Nec seal. Great work. :)

Fantastic  8)

Keep us posted! I feel sorry for how much stuff Geronimo is getting thrown at him which is why I said to go for it and put them on general sale too.

Cheers for feedback, really enjoying the sculpting and only wish I'd tried ages ago!!

Thanks  :D
I had spotted some Escher art books at work the day I started this and just wondered
"why not have a go".......... now I'm thinking of other ideas along similar lines, if the take
up on these as scenery/large bases is good.

Thanking you  8)
When you are dabbling and trying ideas out feedback like this is worth it's weight in
gold to keep you going at it.
