The Wooded Menace
« on: October 13, 2010, 08:56:44 AM »
My wife and I got a game in tonight after getting the kids to bed early.  She's a big Batman fan so we did up a Bats game for her.

So enjoy the madness,
Brian and Amy

PS
It's got miniatures boobies in it so if you have a weak disposition look away :D

Thanks guys, it was a special event to have my lovely wife sit in with me.  She is more of a video game player but she wanted to throw down with Bats so we gave this a go and she kicked my ass.

@ Conquistador
I exclusively use a modified version of the Battleground WWII system for all my gaming.  Don't have the treemen, nymphs or Dr. Mid-Nite rules type up yet but you can find the Bat-Man's below  (http://whattheminiatures.com/forum/index.php?topic=134.0).

@ Argonor
The Treeman minis are from the pre-painted D&D CMG.

Great looking game there, I really love the water-tower, and the background story to the scenario is really interesting! Wish my girlfriend would play toy soldiers with me...

So, boobies are bad, butt-cheeks are not..  ???  lol

...

Everyone has butt-cheeks*. Butt-cheeks are therefore as OK as ears and knees. Only 51% of the population has boobies (OK, maybe a bit more than that  ::) I've seen plenty of man-boobs) and therefore they're elitist. They discriminate against the non-boobied.

* except for the differently-fundamented, who are people just like everyone else. Well, maybe not quite like everyone else.

I need to add that the incredible paint on the sexy nymphs is from none other other then the legendary Michi.  He is a true master of painting the female form in miniature.

Thanks buddy,
Brian

PS
@ Shadowking
I love the nymph minis because they work for just about anything from nymphs, elves, amazons or even Venusian out for Earth men to take back home for nefarious needs. ;D

I suspected something like that from the bases, but you never know  :)

So, what you're saying is, there's nothing sexual about the naked female butt, only about the breasts? Don't get me wrong, I do not get offended by nudity at all (very obese people excepted, that's simply gross), especially not on statues and little metal miniatures; I live in a country where it's common for girls/women to wear only panties at the beach, and that was the first to legalize porn, for all that matters, and sometimes it confuses me what it is that people find so offending about the human body - and especially the female breast, as opposed to other intimate body parts.

Argonor,

Different cultures, different values.   ;)  Let's just say you and I really disagree on the issue on non-miniatures nudity.  You think your view is right, I think you are wrong.  :(   Horses for courses thing...   lol

Let's not do the TMP thing and get into a "cultural/political" discussion on this beyond the fact that nymphs were semi-nude (Well, duh, nymphs in formal dresses would just be wrong,) please? The game looked like fun, the miniatures were interesting, the players had fun.  Let's stick to the subject the OP posted.

Gracias,

Glenn

Different values indeed. The Himba of Namibia for instance see nothing sexual about breasts, and their women don't cover theirs up (obviously they see no reason to). They would be mortified and scandalised if you caught a glimpse of their arses or downstairs ladyparts, however.

The game looked loads of fun. I especially liked the treeman smashing the water tower. Destructible scenery like that really adds to a game, I think. Everybody loves smashing things, don't they?  Or is it just me?

It just struck me as downright odd that there was a warning in regards to breasts, an not to below-the-waist nudity. My thought was that if somebody (in western culture) is bothered by the former, the latter should be so much more disturbing.

I was in no way implying that anyone should not have the right to avoid looking at nudity, just that I do not quite understand the way people of a similar cultural background (I would think) as my own discern between different kinds of nudity.

But let it rest, I have no interest in discussing, whether nudity as such is OK, or not (which was never really a part of my post, as far as I can see, I just stated that I have no problem with it) just have to clear this up:

I have no intention of trying to convince to follow/convert anyone to my views regarding way of life, sexual orientation, or religion.

I think anyone is entitled to live/love/believe as they see fit, as long as they do not harm anybody in doing so. And as long as they do not try to impose rules based on either of the above on others of a different view. The latter is where things often start to go wrong, I think.

Wow that was a great battle report. I wasn't aware that the battleground system was so flexible. I'm glad the wife enjoyed it.
