I believe that Chris Westfalia (the mod) has made a number of templates for 1/56 vehicles, which are (were? ) posted on his Displaced Miniatures account.

Most free models are 1/72 scale, although there are the Polish kits, which are usually around 1/35 or 1/25. Either way, it's quite possible that you'll have to rescale.

And it reminds me, I should work on an upscaled version of my cardboard Gear Krieg models...

Oh no. I only just realised my mistake. I meant paper as in blueprinted but not put into production before the end of the war. Oops!

Like the German tanks World at Arms produces, but in 1:56. Or the E-series, only proposed but would have been in production by the time Secrets of the Third Reich comes around.

IMO there are NO kits around in 1/56.  :( :( :(
Closest thing would be the Maus, E-100 and E-10 from Gasolino in 1/48.
