A brass/bronze would look good too, failing that a mackerel-sque finish with the striping would look nice.

Looks absolutely fantastic, I just love all the little details, especially the legs. Can't wait to see it painted  :)

That's the model finished. I decided to leave the weapons til later and what I'll do is leave them removable. I'll make up a spar torpedo, buzz saw, harpoon and a mine laying arm, make two holes in the fish's nose( do fish have noses?) and pin the weapons on as needed. Gamer mac let me steal some of his aquarium plants and I've cut them up to look like seaweed. I've also added some small fish. Their just bits of thin plastic card cut to shape and stuck to brush bristles. Hopefully when their painted you'll hardly notice the bristles. Next on to painting and once that's done I'll use some lichen (right spelling?) that i use for bushes and trees and cut them down really short to look like sea plants.

Sorry for all the pics. I know some people don't like that, that's why I changed the header.

Green-bronze like the terrorfish or gold-bronze like the mechanical owl pit of clash of the titans?

Started painting it this weekend. Sprayed on the basic colours and brushed on some highlights. I thought if I do this early enough in the painting you could tell me if I'm going wrong...

I've still got a lot to do. I want to try and tone down the stark black weathering and add the blackish tiger-shark stripes. The bronze thing, I don't think I can pull off the weathered look. I'll try and give it shot tonight.
