Never got round to the rust last night but tried out a wee bit of the bronze painting and washed the base with GW dark flesh.

The eye portal is the only bit done and it looks silvery for some reason in the pictures. In real life it's more goldy, still not the colours I want. The base colour is dwarf bronze, highlighted with shining gold, with mithral silver to finish. All GW paints. I might start again and leave out the silver.

Simply fantastic! The colour scheme is shaping up really nicely and showing up all that amazing detail.

Brilliant work. I was intrigued when I saw the first WIPs but I wasn't sure how it's going to turn out. This is spectacular!

One question though... Since this thing is nearly constantly under water, would rust make sense? How about oil stains instead?

It's a gorgeous piece of work :) There's an octopus in the undersea familiars pack that Reaper makes thatwould go nicely on the base. Just a suggestion!

Now all you need is a waterline version for a surface game.

Herbyf

I was already thinking of something like that. I've got a wee sketch earlier in the thread of a landing craft version and I've got a bundle of Russian sailors to paint up as a nemo army. Any ideas welcome.....

My brother brought his Mini sub to show me, so I took the opportunity to take some more photos for you.
