Capture the Saboteur!
« on: October 21, 2010, 03:19:06 AM »
The scenario was a simple one to test out the Guard duty rules for .45 Adventure 2nd edition. German saboteurs were at a lonely farmhouse back int he woods. They were being led by an occultist by the name of Lusk. The Gargoyle and Mo need to discover if Lusk is at the house and then signal for the police.

The game begins with Lusk in one of 4 rooms (secret placement). There is one guard at the front door and one at the back as well as two inside on the first floor. The Gargoyle and Mo are represented by two markers each. In the table set up below, you can just see two markers in the upper left corner.

There were 20 spotting cards; 10 were no spotting this turn, 5 were spotting with penalty, 4 were spotting with bonus, and 1 was a changing of the guard that would temporarily have 4 guards out with the chance to spot.

The two heroes moved cautiously, timing their moves to coincide with the guards having to move back to their starting point. The Gargoyle was able to sneak around one side of the building and get to the roof by climbing up the truck without being spotted. Mo was able to close to charge range and quickly silence one guard with a vicious right hook.

The second guard rounded the corner before Mo could dispose of the body and opened fire hitting Mo in the chest. The former prizefighter was unfazed by this and quickly took guard #2 down.

Meanwhile, the Gargoyle discovered the location of Lusk and signaled for reinforcements. Lusk, however, hearing the gunshots, bolts for the truck outside in an attempt to get away. The Gargoyle, seeing Lusk make a break for it, races across the roof, and jumps down to the roof of the truck while putting bullets in Lusk's Legs and chest.

Lusk manages to get into the truck and get the engine started, before the Gargoyle renders him unconscious, however, Commandant Fritz with some of his men arrives at the same time as the police. As the guards and police exchange fire, Fritz jumps into the truck and floors it with the unconscious Lusk beside him and an irate Gargoyle in the back battling with Klaus, one of Lusk's guards who luckily survived Mo's onslaught (by running away).

Lusk regains consciousness while in the truck and the Gargoyle, ignoring the irritating Klaus, puts slugs into both him and Fritz. Fritz loses control of the truck which careens wildly through the police (who all dive out of the way miraculously only to be gunned down the next turn by the guards). After failing an attempt to regain control, the truck slams into the trees.

The Gargoyle is thrown from the truck and Lusk begins limping away. Fritz and Klaus manage to hold the hero up enough so that Lusk can exit the board, albeit with quite a few holes in him.

I just checked this out via facebook! Looks like a fair bit of fun.

What determines the secret location?

Or is that a secret?

What determines the secret location?

In this case, before the start of the game, the player wrote down which one of the 4 rooms he was in.

Nice report! And very nice painted miniatures.

Seems like the guard rules went very well if the you could simulate the outcomes of guards silenced and the heroes sneaking them when timing the movements. I looking forward to play with 2nd edition rules!

Stunning! Looks fantastic.

When can we expect .45 v2? I'm looking forward to it!

Cheers
