Very nice work, good idea paint them as a RM unit. Im working on a couple of units from the Tea Wars range at the moment , recieved the command and steam lancer this week. I didnt realise they did gas masked heads otherwise I would have ordered some, currently sticking Ramshackles heads on WF plastic s to see what they look like. Although Im not a fan of multi part metals (having just stuck 70  pairs of arms on Baker Co Zulus!) I might order another unit with the gas masks ,  my Martian Expeditionary Force is using Parroom minis which are much smaller in scale so the tea wars units will probably be heading off to Venus or Mercury. Like the others im  looking forward to seeing the completed units.

I know, I know, I actually put a figure together and painted it in a day. I even surprised myself and had to have a sit down afterwards  ;). Only 39 more to go and I'll have you know I'm committed to this job and wont be distracted.............. ooh look, clouds.

Alliances are meant to be broken.

That is straight from page 1 of Malamute's Book of Diplomacy.   lol

Mors, looking forward to seeing that lot. I know what you mean about putting the figures together but at least no two will be the same. You can buy gasmasks sprues seperately so it might be worth ordering some before you put anymore figures together. I recently got the command pack too and it's going to be a job putting a gasmask head on the signaller. Have you got Parroom Brits with gasmasks?
Don't!

Annoyingly Ive already put them together and slappped some paint on them , just have to buy another couple of packs.
I am using Black Scorpions Bromhead as the force commander, hes too big to go with any of the other ranges Ive got, and I dont normally worry about scale creep too much!
I seem to have a fixation with separate heads at the moment, about a year or so ago when I ordered from Ramshackle I got the turbanned heads, so like Dave Im waiting for Perrys plastic Zouves to add to my Ottomans.Im going to get the relevant head sprues from Westwind too which I have a few ideas for. With the extra heads from the Tea Wars range in each pack , plus 20 WF spare heads (which arnt great) I will have Im looking for some more figures to do head swops which is the limit of my modelling capabilty.

Yes manged to get a couple of packs a few years ago, not touched them yet as I always wary  of painting redcoats, if Im happy with the current units they are next on my list, especially as Im awaiting a order from RAFM to add to my Parroom Martians.

So not fair! I'd love to get my hands on some of these  :(

That's fast work for me!  lol...

I know the feeling, I started lurking on LAF because I was going to build an airship and I wanted advice. I think that was May last year (maybe 6 months before I took the plunge and started posting about the idea of a VSF campaign), and the airship is still unconstructed.

In the meantime, I've had a bunch of Ruritanians and some Dwarves in pith-helmets that have been sitting untouched in my painting queue since... about April. And I'm not even converting them. So I think March to now for a conversion job where you're trying out bits is damned speedy work (especially as you've also built an entire Victorian town in the meanwhile)!

You've made a great start and I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest appear.

I sent Black Pyramid a enquiry regarding the head sets , this is part of their reply :-

It is true!  We have several sprues of heads in Pith helmets, two of which are ones wearing goggles and full-face gas masks (World War 2 types) - we will be producing more gas mask sprues in the new year, based on earlier historical designs.

These sprues are being painted for stock photographing purposes at the moment but I am confident that they will be on the website shop within the next week or possibly two.

Looks like they got some more stuff coming out in the new year, good for conversions.
