Doesn't look like you're struggling at all, that sailor looks gorgeous. As for the divers they are really starting to take shape, the first one is looking really splendid.Can't wait to see them finished.

We are going to use Coplestone russian sailors for the normal troops/crew for the army.
This is the first attempt at painting them. Struggling a bit to do the stripes neatly. Looks a lot better with the 2' rule :D




What do you think of the colour scheme?
Is it starting to look to French?

Braver man than I, to even attempt stripes like that - and you're planning a whole stripey crew, too...

Looks perfectly acceptable in closeup, and like you say, the 2' rule will mean they'll look great.

The idea of building a miniature instead of sculpting it I find sort of revolutionary.  In that I consider myself a poor sculptor but a decent modeller, this opens up some new possibilities.
