Yet another newbie to the forum.
« on: October 27, 2010, 11:07:21 PM »
Hi Guys,

Just a quick word to say hello and a quick word of introduction.

I'm Tim and I'm in York in the UK. I have been gaming for many years, I started with the first Warhammer set (three books in a box with only brown and white illustrations, as I remember). After a gap of a few years when I just painted figures rather than gamed, I got back into gaming with Warhammer ancients when that ruleset came out.

With the growing power of the internet I started reading wargames forums (fora?) which got me involved in WW2 20mm wargaming, which is now my main interest. Through my WW2 gaming contacts I was introduced to Colonial gaming which is what I'm working on now and how I come to be here.

My current project is an Egyptian army for the British campaigns in Sudan and Egypt in the 1880s and when I have completed a unit or two I'll post some pics.

Thanks for having me and I have to say the information and eye-candy on the forum is great.

Cheers,
Tim

Hi Tim,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm sure you'll find lots of inspiration here as many of the guys that frequent this forum are very helpful, and their creations often simply stunning.
The only problem you might encounter is being side- tracked into another period, but hey, that's what wargaming is all about isn't it? lol

I'd love to see your Egyptians as Colonial wargaming is always somewhat special, almost romantic.
I've got enough on my plate with with the Spanish Civil War, French Indian Wars, Vietnam and WWI, otherwise I'd be tempted. Well, I also do WWI in East Africa so that's almost Colonial isn't it? ;)

York? My favorite British city! Roman, Viking and Medieval all in one beautiful package.

Cheers,

Willie

Welcome aboard the good ship LAF, caffeine-fiend. My in-law's a Tim.

Hope you don't end up giving me that one more reason to start 20mm gaming. :)

Cheers!
