More bleedin Sorcs!
« on: August 16, 2010, 01:03:55 PM »
Now these won't be getting much paint on them for a while but I thought I would post them as they are finished from a conversion perspective and get a little feedback. Originally I was making one but got carried away

Whilst I was waiting for the green stuff to cure in my kiln on #1

I made another as I was a little bored

Now conversions have never been my strong point, I consider myself a competent painter, however that said I am rather happy with these two.  I will be using them as slanneshi sorcerers and as they are now two rather than one as first envisaged and very similar I will have to make up a little background story making them twin brothers or something alone those lines.

I don't like the addition to the staff at all, but the greenstuff stuff (heh) looks great!

They both look cool, but the mutated one might not be so welcome in the Empire...

Yes I like the first one alot, but agree with phreedh that the top of the staff is OTT (well then again it is GW, so maybe...).
I wouldn't knock your conversion skills if I were you judging by those two, very well put together and positioned.

Very disturbing, in a Slaneesh kind of way, so big compliment on both converting and painting. My thumbs are up. :)
Significant.

@ Christian & Super_Gibbon

thanks guys

@ Mephysto

Thanks, this is the 3rd reincarnation of the same model as it were, the first two based long the same lines but using the empire wizard kit ended up in the bin halfway through painting in my only ever instances of "prima donna" behavior......very much 3rd time lucky.

Lovely work matey! Done a lovely mini some justice there, I don't see a problem with your metal, your painting is spot on in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing, keep it up

Thanks pal,

I am very critical of my own work in an attempt to strive towards perfection.  But if you look at the silver on her bracers and on the armoured end of the tail it is not all that good, shading is all wrong.

Big up the Devon massive!  ;)

Nice paint on the slannesh sorceress, only thing I'll say is the body looks a little out of place, maybe the robes could have been extended a touch? All good though just an observation.

Anything else in the pipeline?

cheers,

I am working on some slannesh chaos knights for a commission, they will not be my best work but they should be good enough that I am happy to put my name too :)
