Victorian Terrace - Finished
« on: November 04, 2010, 11:35:00 AM »
Well almost, just a few tiny finishing touches needed but another project with priority is calling so I have to leave this one for now. Have I broken forum etiquette by starting a new thread on this build? I'm trying to save you the effort of trawling through the original one. If I have then I will administer a swift kick to my own briskets in apology.

Anyway, here's a few pics for you. Unfortunately these have been taken on my mobile phone as the usual camera is up the spout so they aren't the best quality. When my camera is fixed I'll take some better pics.

Pappa Midnight's latest build gave me the ideaof adding an alley between the houses.

No self respecting badly built Victorian terrace should be without wall supports:

As usual any advice and/or criticism is greatly appreciated

Edit: I need to shrink these pics as they are too big, any pointers? The images are stored on my gallery on this forum.

That's a masterpiece, TC. It truly is. Neatly executed, and still very, very convincing.

Thanks all!  :) I forgot to point out the build is modular for easy storage, hence the gaps here and there.

It's scratchbuilt, here's the original thread:

Funny you should say that! The street names in the build project are the locations of the Ripper murders but due to my photographic fumblings they aren't in focus. This terrace is Bucks Row (Polly Nichols).

if we hear you moan you can't make anything again we'll have you shot  ;D

That's me busted!  lol

Criticism? o_o
Are you joking, isn't it?

It is absolutely outstanding! :-* :-*

BTW, how did you paint the walls?
Light gray wash, and then brick brown drybrush?

Looks great TC. Is the built up front on the larger piece a more modern addition or would a facade like that be found on Victorian buildings as well?

The intricacies of how terraced housing goes together is still eluding me.

Another great addition to the town/city? :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Great little details really bring it to life, the post in the alley way, the drain pipe and the posters, all very nice.
What are you using for the drain pipe tops?
What's this other project then ???
