Well, at this stage I'm tossing up doing it in February or March... but I will reason that this post appearing back onto page 1 is a "sign" to get it finished asap. I would like to have had it finished already lol

I didn't even post up a picture of the extension I made! *tsk tsk* Will be doing that tonight. Thanks for the tip, Admiral!

So I mentioned some pics...

It now measures about 40cm long. I'd tell you more, but yet another cup of tea is getting cold!

Well, I've opted to go without a boiler in favour of more room for stairs etc. I can always make a boiler for my next steamer... right? Pics soon to come.

Getting there... hopefully!

Here's the deck almost complete. I just have to add a strip of cardboard to the back.

Just the one pic for now. There's a bit more on my blog and some of my ramblings.

I'm thinking of naming her the Belle Epoque so le capitaine de vaisseau can listen to Fauré on his grammophone before blowing up some Zanzibari slave-trader settlement.

Yes we'll be having a grand old time when it's finished! :D

What about putting the top of the boiler coming up through the decking at some point so that it's visible but not a tremendous obstacle?  It might fit fore or aft the cabin depending on your design.  You could position a platform over it with a light gun or some such so the space is still useful.  Or none of that if you're wanting something historically accurate.

Thanks for the feedback, gents!

Ettrick: that's something I hadn't considered yet and I'm willing to try it out. I am going to have a fiddle around before gluing everything down...

Only interesting update is that I've just put in orders to Reviresco and Eureka... *squeal*

Hello everyone.

I haven't done much at all this past week. However, I'm quite happy with the boat! What do you say, eh?

A couple more pictures on the blog on the weekend right now!

She's coming along alright, although a little bit slow. I'm trying to have her done by the end of the weekend so I can get some games in soon.

Here's a more detailed shot of the door:

Very nice indeed  8)

Might I suggest some sort of thickening band along the top of the sides to add a bit of robustness and detail?

cheers

Beautiful work! Do have a look at the Tactica 2011 pictures. The Sudan table sported a beautiful ship that looks similar to yours. I am really looking forward to seeing how you'll build your wheel at the back.
