Lurkers - work in progress
« on: November 07, 2010, 11:37:23 PM »
These are some photos of my work in progress of some lurker figures.

Nightgaunt:

A Spawn (Black Cat Bases name)

Serpentman:

I have some cultists from Pulp Figures in the mail, and I will be painting their the same colour as the serpentman's, who in turn gets his robes from the spawn he summons in ceremonies.

Cool colour for the cultist robes! Will look great en masses with the cultists. Are you using the spawn as a formless thing?

I think I will create something stat wise for the spawn - I have dragged out my old Call of Cthulhul RPG books and will work something out in that regards.

I will also add some house rules for the Nightgaunt to reflect CoC more.

My Mrs insisted the spawn wasn't "poisonous" or "toxic" enough as it was, and suggested I paint the suckers black with yellow in the middle. [which sounds very funny with her Japanese accent]

Being the sensible chap I am, I did what I was told....er what was suggested, and I am happy with the results... it does look more 'toxic'.

Nice work there!! Let me know when you create the spawn stats, please, I thin I can use the same stats for the servitor.

Regards.

Reading it in my head with a Japanese accent after seeing this was amusing in and of itself too. The wash definitely helped too as it now has a darker sheen to it instead of a purple pastel.

Are you making anymore of the Serpentmen for your cult?
Everything is better with lizardmen.

Are you using inks for the wash?

Nope - I am having difficulty in getting any inks, so I am using darker shades of a similar colour to shade using a paint brush  :'(

GW has a purple wash in their wash set. These are nice but they have just a couple of colors. If you are in the USA I'd recommend getting some Reaper inks, they have ha lot of colors and they look great.
