White Sun of the Desert

I watched it two years ago, I loved it.

It really looks as a western from Sergio Leone! - although it's Russian and in the RCW.

Here is another film from the same manufacturer. Called "Car in military uniform". Lots of interesting shots.

What a fantastic video the footage is truly incredible... Would not have thought such film was even available - certainly never seen anything similar or comparable for armoured cars on the Western front.

Folk Cossack song "Joy to Live".
This song was very popular and in white and red during the Civil War.

Very nice song, and interesting old-fashioned video, thanks Cuprum!

So this is a RCW song?

It becomes difficult to know which songs are from the historical period, and which are not. I watch with interest the videos of the Moscow parades on May 9th and November 7th; and it seems that songs about the RCW or WW2 but written much later are now very popular in the Russian army (as "Нам нужна одна победа", and "Tri tankista", very good songs but written a long time after the events).

This song has appeared much earlier than the Civil War. Its occurrence referred to in 1774 - during the Russian-Turkish war.

How video excerpts from the film "Alexander Parkhomenko," filmed in 1942.

The song "Three tankmans" written in 1939 for the film "Tractor Drivers".

The song "We need one victory" was written in 1970 for the film "The Belarusian Station".

Trailer for the new feature film "Hero." The movie is set in two eras - the present and the Civil War.

Ukrainian documentary film "Legion".
The film tells about the Ukrainian Galician Army. In the first part of the film are talking narrative about the participation of Ukrainian Galician Legion in World War I on the side of Austria-Hungary. Then comes the story of the battles UGA against the Polish Army.

What a fantastic documentary wish I understood the language but still well worth watching. Lots of new ideas for potential wargames. The Ukrainian legion seem to be uniformed very similar to Austro-Hungarians?
