Ambush Alley Buildings (Very photo heavy)
« on: January 01, 2011, 01:29:08 PM »
I put the buildings together back in May 2010 but have only just got around to finishing them off.  I have tried to make them fairly generic as I have troops for Mogadishu '93 but friends have Afghans & British/American forces.

All are constructed from 5mm foamcore walls on MDF bases.  The walls are rendered using pre-mixed wall filler with a bit of water added and applied with a large brush.  All buildings have a lift off roof.

I designed some to be used as individual buildings or together in larger compounds.  Compound A can be used as 3 seperate buildings.  The two halves of Compound B can be used with seperate walls to make 2 smaller compounds (C&D).  All fit into A4 photocopy paper boxes for ease of storage.

Although built with AA in mind they will undoubtedly be used in other games; Pulp, Stargate, Post Apoc, etc.

The Town:

"We've got a Black Hawk down, we've got a Black Hawk down"

"Super 6-1 is down. We've got a bird down in the city..."

Nice kit. It looks like the locals "acquired" some paint from UN stores.

Maybe some posters and graffiti to make it look a little more lived in?

Very nice indeed, especially the modular idea for laying out. Tempted to have a bash at some myself but I must resist more buildings for Jihadistan, esp as I haven't finished my mosque yet...
