The brickwork was scribed into the foam using a pencil. I then coated the lot in cheap internal wal paint ( light cream). When it was dry I applied the brick colour using a sponge ( it stops the paint going into the cracks).
Hope that helps.

Do you paint straight onto the foam? Any undercoat? Any 'texture'? Just wondering because the results look superb and any hints would be welcome.

All of your Victorian stuff looks truly brilliant; very, very impressive.  :)

Keen's Mustard - the poster - I just got it now. Keen as Mustard. I may be a little dim at the moment, but it's still hilarious.

That's why I love coming back to all your Victorian projects! Excellent!

Keen's is actually a real mustard brand; they make a lovely hot mustard. There's a Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keen's (when isn't there a Wikipedia page?)  :)

Grand looking buildings, all of them! Deeply envious!

Aha! So maybe that's where the phrase comes from... or perhaps not. I always thought it was a very Irish expression - anybody else ever hear it?

Not just Irish; I have known it most of my life, even if not in common usage (Northwest UK).

So, a British Isles thing. I will forever assume it's because of Keen's Mustard, thanks to Pappa Midnight!

So, when are we going to get a shot of the whole street, swarming with Victorian zombies? It's going to be quite a sight!

Crikey!!! What a beautiful build! The paint job, the posters, the roof .......everything is absolutely amazing. Guess I'll quit now and just go back to watching TV instead of building anything lol
