Any khaki will do. Tending towards the pale end for blouses. There wasn't even remotely a standardised colour.

Pictures of WWI Russians give the appropriate shades.

Later edit: I most often used English Uniform, cut with some white to make it paler. Sometimes Middlestone or Buff as the base. Sometimes Pale Sand for blouses. Each time was different though.

True. Some good combinations would be: Panzer Aces US Tankcrew & US Tankcrew Highlight; French Tankcrew & US Tankcrew Highlight; Canvas & Khaki; Reflective Green & Russian Uniform. Mix the two for mid tones.

Here are photos of real officers tunic. This coloring of the regulations. Of course, in reality, there was great variety in shades. But the color is predominant.

I used a variety of khakis on the crew. I really like VMC Green Brown, a nice warm colour. Other colours I use are VMC Khaki, Russian uniform and Brown violet. The last two for darker shades.

I've gone for mash-up of all the colours mentioned :D

I've squeezed them all into a pot and shook them, the colour isn't too bad amazingly enough :-*

I'll post some pics when the force is finished.

I like Khaki 988, Green brown 879 and Khaki grey 880 though US field drab 873 and even English uniform 921 works. Foundry make some nice shades, too - Drab 12 and Moss 29 are nice shades for a change of pace. Looking forward to seeing your final pics.

Who is it?   ;)
If it's White, they must have a badge, as the officer's cap in the photo jacket - at the top. And roll his coat over his shoulder - gray. Leather equipment should be brown.

they're not historical figures, all I wanted to know were paint colour  recommendations :)

The force is Tzar Nikoli Stalins Centralist Militia.

What is the general consensus on those figures with pockets on the shirt? I thought only officers had pockets on their shirts?

@ Redzed nice brushwork! Wish I could crank them out as fast.

You see rankers with pockets too. I think as WWI went on they became more popular.
