Starting a STALKER project - Pix
« on: December 03, 2010, 10:24:29 PM »
Some of this has been posted elsewhere, but I figured I should stop stealing ideas and contribute a bit.

The troops are RAFM and TAG with Pig Iron head swaps. The terrain is Litko ITS with some resin bitz. I've a long way to go, but here's the progress so far.

Zone Military

Terrain #1

Terrain #2

Duty Squad

Clear Sky

STALKERS

Nealy finished the Freedom squad and another terrain piece. More pix this weekend.

Thanks

Big Pipes were from an eBay seller. Resin casts of Hirst Molds, I think.

Yes! I've been looking forward to seeing someone do a Stalker project! Such a superb set of games in a fantastic setting. I've been toying with doing a project for it myself. Amazing work!

Nice use of Cap trooper bits for up-gearing the mercs.

I wasn't too fond of the bird's-eye-view of the terrain (the structures seem to spartan to me), but those street-level shots are juicy. Very atmospheric.
Everything is better with lizardmen.

Definately from a Hirst arts mold.

Nice to see a Stalker project. Like the paintjob on the minis and the terrain is cool too. Where are these Bridges and platfroms from?

Thanks. The structures are Litko Industrial Terrain System pieces.  Laser-cut plywood, notch/slot construction. Bought one of their bundle deals last Christmas and finally got around to building it.
It is rather spartan, but I default to playability over detail. My experience with painstakingly crafted details is that someone can snap them off in a second with nary a hint of remorse. I put resin scenics like the crates/oil drums, etc, on plexi glass bases, so they can be dropped in as desired to spice the battlefield up a bit.

A rather heavily armed Freedom squad

The first Quonset-style building

Shelter

The Quonset style hut was a prototype for more and shelters pop up in both CoP and CS.  I’ve got a bit more detailing to do. Sorry for the dark pix.

Someone gave me scraps of chicken wire, so I tried my hand at a section of fence.
The best signs I find are in English, so that throws off the vodka-vibe, and I really gotta improve on my picture lighting.
