Armourfast Ranualt Ft-17's
« on: December 05, 2010, 11:51:32 AM »
Hi

Has anyone seen these?  Are they any good for 28mm.  The armourfast plastics are1/72nd cheap tanks in packs of two (clip together in dark green plastic just like you used to get when I was a kid)

The reason I ask is that I have two of there WWII Shermans and in comparison to everything else in the scale they seem huge.  If this is also the case with the Ft's then it could be a very cheap alternative to paying £20+ per piece.

Any thoughts out there

I do not think they are the right size. For me, it's 1 / 72 therefore too small  :?

Armourfast, like the Dragon diecasts, are 1/72 scale for some reason, unlike most other WWII stuff which is 1/76, hence they seem bigger than other stuff. Its like the Valiant Miniatures which are also 1/72, and these go well with Armourfast kits. But I think they might be a tad too small to go with 28mm. Shame though.

I think they are to small for 28mm as Hat stuff scales out to 1/72 or 20mm, I have heard that they are going to make 28mm figures so maybe they will scale up there tanks to?

Hi,

I have one of Force of Arms' FT-17s in 1/56, which is very good value for money at 15 GBP. I'd recommend that one.

The figures above are the "slender" 28s from Rif Raf Miniatures, but I'd say it works equally well with Copplestone.
