Yes, the hands and feet are rather large: hope any female ones will be equally... emphasized elsewhere http://tinminis.com/Delia2010.jpg  :D

I could see adding a few more pirates to my unpainted collection (working first on the Navy).  I would second Neotacha's suggestion for a few normal town folk of various ages.

I like them all :-*
A small point to the pistolshooter (in the first bunch no.6) - he should better not fire a flintlook pistol in this gangsta style, the priming blackpowder may fall out of the flashpan. ;)

Don't forget wargaming minis are NOT intended to be display case figurines to be scrutinized individually, but are intended to be used as playing pieces seen en masse from a distance: their most distinguishing features are to be... emphasized / underlined  :D

(as a form of poetic licence, let's forget that gravity is lower on Barsoom...)

Really *odd* how -while our hobby basically invites everyone -children included- to simulate wounding, killing, the maiming of human bodies- some prefer female miniatures to look androgynous. As if it was feminine beauty which was 'shocking', obscene, had to be toned down / hidden (from children?). On TMP vignettes of 'finishing off' a helpless wounded foe are displayed for all, children included, to see; but bits of unpainted metal or plastic 28mm high are concealed behind an 'adult filter'. Seems to reflect a bizarre perversion of aesthetic / ethical values, of what is really ugly / obscene, of what type of images children have to be protected, if that is the underlying reason of such censorship.

No silicone implants on 18th century women, please.

And please read this excellent article by Steve Buddle on why boobs aren't the key to sculpting identifiable 28mm women: http://spyglassasylum.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/art-of-femme.html.  It's all in the hips!
Back from the dead, almost.

Why not?  Everyone is allowed his / her own tastes, and there is a market for generously endowed female minis as for 'as flat as an ironing board' (as we say in France) ones.
Regarding the distinguishing value of feminine breasts, I refer you to Desmond Morris ('The Naked Ape', 'The Human Zoo') :) [gives also interesting insights about the origin of military epaulettes and grenadiers hats, btw]

No need for a rant, lads. We won’t be making silicon breasts for sure :)

Also perhaps you noticed, this is a relatively old thread, the Pirates range has been put on ice and for the time being we aren’t planning a release till Igor got some time and inspiration to continue the range-.

Thx for the answer Prof., I was getting a bit nervous if I should consider expanding or altering my gaming budget.
