I have one of their 6ft x4ft grass mats. I am very pleased with it. I have had it for about two years and its still good as new.  :)

Its very durable. I am not sure what it is made of though. It looks like flock that has been compressed together, not sure what the technical term is. ::)

I would recommend one. :)

Mamalute,

It looks very Gucci.  Thinking of stowage - does it fold up like the Games Workshop mat, or do you have to roll it up?

You have to roll them, not fold.

I seem to recall the Mat-O-War website (or it might have been the Mat-O-War guy posting on TMP) explicitely saying they are designed to be durable, and you can fold them without any problems.

I fold mine. Doesn't seem to have hurt it. Putting it out a couple of days before you want to game with it with some heavy books on it gets the creases out nicely (I have some massive ancient Shakespeare volumes and Bibles which do the trick).

Like mine. Very durable, though it needs to be rolled.  What's nice is it mostly matches GW/Scenic Express/Noch bright green static grasses.

In fact i want to glue it on a plywood's tray of 19mm and make a permanent gameboard of 180x120cm, stored in our club.

Just to add to the above I bought mine the same time as Malamute and it's still as good as new after much abuse.

I have some massive ancient Shakespeare volumes

I've got some of those but there's lots of big words and no pictures, puts me off a bit  ;).

You have to roll them, not fold.

they are fine folded also - any creases drop out quickly and you can even cold-steam them for stubborn creases.

...they're virtually indestructible.

My Shakespeares have pictures, so better than Penguin Classics in that sense. Unfortunately you have to be Geoff Capes to read them unless you have a lectern (or, I suppose a table).

But they are cool. You feel like Gandalf at Balin's tomb whenever you open them (except they aren't as dusty as that).
