Gentlemen,
Thanks for the wonderful compliments. You did catch us with our pants down a bit, as the site has been existing as a working space for the design team, and suddenly had a dozen eager gamers digging through it's closet
Pleasantly surprised. And welcome! Just have to fix numerous broken links...
As for ATT's absence from BGG, we felt the game should be largely ready and playable before committing to an entry in their virtual venerable canon of dusty cardboard boxes.
Chris, apologies for any similarity to your own title. Must be the Zeitgeist. The working title when the ideas first germinated in Asia in 2008, was in fact, Terrible Ancient Things. It started as a 3 panel cartoon series, which I will post here sometime for you guys to check out. (Exclusive content
Actually, we're still not sure if Terrible Ancient Things isn't a better title
but it seems you've got it now, Chris
Checked out your stuff. Really tight. Maybe you be interested in doing some concept work for us? Digging your organic vegetative angle. I love the idea of "the monster" being a form of corrupted Nature. Let's talk further if you interested.
Thanks again guys. You put the wind in our sails. Bravo Six, you're a gem!
And now for some blatant plugging
Ancient Terrible Things PnP v0.11 beta will be available for playtesting from Wednesday 22nd December 2010.
It consists of a set of black n white cards to print and chop. ( And corner round if your girlfriend has some Scrap booking accessories
The rules are available under the How to Play section of the website. This is a live working document between myself, the lead game designer and playtesters, so is likely to change frequently, as are the cards. By all means jump in, and send your constructive feedback, misunderstandings and frustrations.
Give us some pearlers, post a session report, and we'll send you some free stuff.
For those who have already downloaded the cards, but have not yet printed, we would recommend waiting for the new beta next week.
something has awoken...
