Link to BBG....
But BBG has NOTHING on it.
Good idea for a game.
Kinda like "Cannibal Pygmies in the Jungle of Doom"... http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3947/cannibal-pygmies-in-the-jungle-of-doom
"What exactly is a 'Headpiece to the Staff of Ra'?"

If you register you can download the cards and a first draft of the rules. I like the graphic style and will try to get a copy when it's available. Gameplay involves laying cards in locations to complete stories.
There are sanity rules too :)

I hadn't heard of this, which is weird, because I put out a Lovecrafty sketchbook for halloween called "Terrible Ancient Things."  The drawings are up on my blog from back then:

Check out THE CROGAN ADVENTURES, a historical adventure graphic novel series available from your local bookstore or comic shop (or, of course, Amazon).  I make 'em.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the wonderful compliments. You did catch us with our pants down a bit, as the site has been existing as a working space for the design team, and suddenly had a dozen eager gamers digging through it's closet :) Pleasantly surprised. And welcome! Just have to fix numerous broken links...

As for ATT's absence from BGG, we felt the game should be largely ready and playable before committing to an entry in their virtual venerable canon of dusty cardboard boxes.

Chris, apologies for any similarity to your own title. Must be the Zeitgeist. The working title when the ideas first germinated in Asia in 2008, was in fact, Terrible Ancient Things. It started as a 3 panel cartoon series, which I will post here sometime for you guys to check out. (Exclusive content  ;)
Actually, we're still not sure if Terrible Ancient Things  isn't a better title :( but it seems you've got it now, Chris :) Checked out your stuff. Really tight. Maybe you be interested in doing some concept work for us? Digging your organic vegetative angle. I love the idea of "the monster" being a form of corrupted Nature. Let's talk further if you interested.

Thanks again guys. You put the wind in our sails.  Bravo Six, you're a gem!

And now for some blatant plugging  :-*

Ancient Terrible Things PnP v0.11 beta will be available for playtesting from Wednesday 22nd December 2010.
It consists of a set of black n white cards to print and chop. ( And corner round if your girlfriend has some Scrap booking accessories :)
The rules are available under the How to Play section of the website. This is a live working document between myself, the lead game designer and playtesters, so is likely to change frequently, as are the cards. By all means jump in, and send your constructive feedback, misunderstandings and frustrations.
Give us some pearlers, post a session report, and we'll send you some free stuff.

For those who have already downloaded the cards, but have not yet printed, we would recommend waiting for the new beta next week.

something has awoken...

Hi rob_vz.

Welcome to the LAF forum.

I checked ATT site and quite enjoyed the artwork and the pulp approach to a card game.

I'm already registered, and will check next week for the new beta cards.

Thanks and best wishes.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Yes Rob welcome. And thanks for the "luv". Glad I could help.

I'm such a sucker for the style of artwork found throughout. Looking forward to seeing more of that and more of how the game progresses.

Rob VZ,

No apologies necessary!  I pulled the title out of the air as I was putting together the sketchbook, and hold no claims to it - I doubt it's any better, but please feel free to invert yours as you see fit.  Mine was a one-time halloween thing for a comic show; yours seems like it'll likely have a much longer life.

Sounds fun!

Has it really been 3 years? Lost in a jungle, the tepid fever vapours....

To all of you guys, who dug what was happening on ATT, the game is now nearing completion and has gone live on Kickstarter. Check out the link and see what you think, and get in early ( and cheap ) :

It quotes "and try desperately to avoid fear and madness!"

Who'd want to play anything that promised that ?  ;D

Looks interesting.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.
