VSCW - the Scottish Play
« on: December 12, 2010, 10:10:27 PM »
Have just watched Patrick Stewart on BBC4 in a Stalinist setting of Macbeth.
Lots of atmospheric period settings, old newsreel footage etc.
Shame it was more towards 1950s than 1930s, but it's a cracking production.

This topic should probably be in open talk, but my first thought when I heard Macbeth with a Stalinist setting was the purges of the 1930s.
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

I'll have to catch up when they post it on the website.

Cheers for the tip off.  :)
