Old Glory buildings painted by Sabol Studios
« on: December 10, 2010, 02:14:33 PM »
I had ordered a few buildings from Old Glory last year. They had been collecting cobwebs in the storage building ever since. Recently I had dug them out along with the figures I bought at the same time. Knowing how limited my time is I decided to try and paint up a few figures (which are now primed) and contacted Mat and Denise at Sabol Studios about painting the buildings.

I sent them pictures of what I had and we agreed upon a price so I packed up the resin and sent it off.

1st: They estimated a two week time to finish this project. Instead it took them 2-3 days.

2nd: They kept me informed the whole time, sought my input and did what I asked.

3rd: They went 'above and beyond', adding little details like stacked fire wood and some interior details and bases.

Now, I could have painted these, and probably have done as good a job, BUT it would have taken me a LOT longer if I ever had finished. I am very happy I chose to have Sabol do these for me. Quick turn around, a fair price, and fantastic customer service throughout the process.

Here are some pictures they sent me of the buildings before they sent them back to me:

I love these Old Glory buildings, they are very nice. The crew at Sabol Studios really made them fantastic pieces for the table top. http://www.sabolstudios.com/

If you are like me and don't have time to do everything you would like, letting these guys help is a good deal in my opinion.

Can I ask how much?

The only thing your missing is signage.....just to add a bit of colour.

I decided to add signage later, partially to allow a couple of these to serve various roles until I can get more buildings.  May be a bank one game, a general store the next...

I'm trying to think of an easy way to allow switchable signs.  Any ideas?

I like particularly the inside of the Sheriffs office.  Very nice work.  Are the old glory buildings still available? How do they scale to Foundry minis?

Blu tac. Gamer mac complains all the time that my armies are held together with the stuff! (I don't usually glue everything together til the end for ease of painting.)

The Old Glory buildings are available:  http://oldglory25s.com/index.php?cat_id=53

The two story one is one of the modular buildings, the others are from the western building range.

All my figures are Blue Moon, Black Scorpion and Crusader, with a couple Shadowforge cowgirls my daughter picked out.  I think the buildings look good with all of them.

I'm not sure I want to have magnetic strips glued tot he buildings, but I guess that is an option.  As long as I always use a sign it would work.  Does Blue Tac come off easily enough that I don't  have to worry about little pieces of it sticking to the painted resin?

Nice job!!  :)

One question: are the furnitures that show Sabolstudios yours? If they are, where can I pick some?
Thanks
