Like most things WWII it all depends on which era of the war and in which theatre of war they will be serving.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

I've found the Flames of War paint guide to be a good starting place http://www.flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/Documents/Modelling/Mid-War-Colour-Guide.pdf.

For British late war vehicles in north west europe, I start from a black undercoat followed by dark olive green first  then wash with dark brown ink to pick out detail followed by a dry brush of the same olive green to cover up any mess.
I then dry brush to highlight with light grey grey green, after which I add detail.  It's quick and a bit messy but I'm usually happy with the results
Have you seen the rivets on that?
