28mm Crimean War figures
« on: December 30, 2010, 08:44:05 PM »
Hi All
I've already had a look at recent and past posts about the above.
I'm torn between the Warlord / Radetzky range (somewhat limited at the moment/with no mention of future releases/but extremely well crafted figures) and GWM (that appears vast/extremely well crafted animated figures)

I'd value your input about each range and whether they can be mixed.

If anyone could upload a size comparison or point me in the right direction - it would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'd like to know if these two ranges can be mixed too. It's also been asked on Warlord's forum but no answer there either
.I have a lot of GW figures (and now Foundry too) but am always looking for more figures to add units. Especially line in forage caps, I have way too many Highlander and Guard in proportion to line units ATM.

Hi  Im sorry I have not uploaded a photo. [ as I dont know how to ], but I have figures from both ranges. Both ranges can be mixed, very similar in size. I prefer the warlord, British figures to the GWM, the officers have much better faces and look more animated. However the GWM 93rd highlanders are superb, much better than the earlier figures. I also hope the Warlord range will continue.   THE CID.

Fitterpete - I've now bought some samples from both ranges one of each...
Warlord - Command and Marching (shakos)
GWM - 93rd highlanders (recommended by the Cid) and Coldstream Guard command and marching

 - so when they arrive - I'll post comparison pics (for all and future reference)....and then make a decision on what I will do next!!

The Cid - Thanks very much for your reply and comments.

Cool, looking forward to seeing the pics.I also have the GW 93rd highlanders and yes they are superb.
IMO the Foundry Gds and highlanders are great sculpts too.Sizewise they come in slightly shorter(maybe 1 mm) than the GW on AVERAGE but some poses are the same height. The others just look like shorter men.I don't mix manufacturers in units so it's no biggie.Course I could only afford one unit of each of the Foundry(and that during a sale).

CID no worries I can't do pics either lol
