Yep - I have played solo. I enjoyed it and it ran fairly smoothly once I knew what I was doing and laid all the charts out in front of me so I didn't have to keep shuffling around to findthe one I needed.

I haven't played the other game.

Jimland just arrived from Canada today. Going to modify and use it for "Source of the Nile" style gaming, ditching the fantastical elements like dinosaurs (but maybe including the odd Rider Haggard-style touches here and there). I'll use T&T for any battles the game throws up, and come up with my own native encounters based on the figures I have.

I'll tell you how it goes.

This is gets played alot without any mods in the BattleScape Dome as my girls love it. We also use it as a basis for campaigns with T&T for our more serious Pulp games. Lots of fun. I have also started using this system as an Intro to Pulp Gaming at some of the local clubs as it is quick to set up and still fun for the New Guys.

Nope. And won't be until I've finished my Masai, Ngoni and Ruga Ruga armies. No sign of that happening any time soon so don't hold your breath. Get your favourite TV show in a DVD or Blu-Ray boxed set to entertain you in the meantime. Preferably something that ran for many years such as ER or The Sopranos;)
