Lurkers in Next Supplement
« on: February 16, 2011, 03:26:03 PM »

Mike,

Just curious, I wasn't sure if the next supplement was fixed as far as content yet.

1) If so, should we expect a new release at some time this year?  Sorry if you've already answered this one.

2) Not asking for spoilers but I assume it would include Ghosts and a Witch Lurker?

(if it's not fixed)

3) Can we have some consideration for stats for a "Dark Young" Lurker?

And a Gug or Flying Polyp?  :D
I fear my enthusiasm flags when real work is demanded of me.

Hey Gauntman,

1) Shocking Tales #2 is slated for release in May(hem...) of this year.

2) Yes, on both counts...plus a few more... :P

3) No. I really like the 'Dark Young' but don't see mention of it in any of the stories that I consider 'canon'...there will be a version of a creature like it in VUK but I fear the rules/concept/sculpt will see it not be released for our 'family game': Strange Aeons.

And Dathbain,

Gugs will eventually make it into the Dreamlands expansion (should be Shocking Tales #4 or #5) still quite a way off. Doubtful about the 'Flying Polyp'...again, no real mention of them in the stories...could use a Winged Nightmare...works in a similar fashion.

Thanx for the interest guys...more spoilers and stuff to come... :D

??? Flying Polyps appear in "The Shadow Out of Time", one of the most important tales of the mythos, by Lovecraft himself. I'm not sure whether they are given that name on the story, or someone else invented it later, but sure they are one of the canonical alien races of the mythos.
