The trousers were red with a blue stripe and pretty baggy in 1870 rather than tight and buttoning up the side like the Perry ones. The equipment on the horse looked more modern and less fancy, with rucksack-style bags on each side behind the saddle; and they didn't have sheepskin covers on the saddles as far as I can tell. Also, the coloured blanket with what I presume is a regimental number on it was not present. Other than that, pretty similar.
How much later do you mean by 'later?' They'd need a fair bit more work if you wanted them to do for 1914.
