Once upon a time in Mexico - anyone?
« on: January 14, 2011, 05:43:27 PM »
Now that there is a Antonio Banderas Mariachi from Brigade Games I am tempted to try to game the Desperado/Once upon a time in Mexico movies. Question is where to find miniatures that look like all the Mexican bad guys. Any suggestions?

Maybe some figures from the TAG modern Russian Mafia could work.  Does anyone do Cubans in 28mm?

Some of the Street Violence stuff from Foundry might work, also the Citizen Militia from Copplestone – provided you're not too fussy about the weapons being fictional. I'd probably look mainly at The Assault Group's African militia (http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/store/home.php?cat=45). With the right paintjob, they could easily be Mexicans, and there's a greater variety of weapons available (M16s, MP5s, shotguns etc.) in addition to the usual AK-family and RPG-toting types.

Checvk for some of Copplestone Future wars (also some of the EM4  minis),those in suits, bikers and the like also in their Kiss kiss bang bang range.

There is a nice figure in the golgo island range which would work also I think some others in the RAFM modern day heroes and I would also google reaper for modern stuff

You could also use some of the Mongrel minis Americans or Vietnam yanks etc for Federale troops
