lol

I am sure you will do your best.   ;)

That said I bought a rather large "grab bag" of Ral Partha miniatures from the old days and IIRC the seller mentioned some slave girls/harem girls/some such but I never bothered to do more than put them un-inspected in a box since I had no need for them at that time and only had plans for some of the fantasy warriors in the group.  Perhaps I should dig them out and offer them to you at a great discount!  If these might need your purposes please PM me and I will dig them out and take pictures so you can decide if you want them.  I'll never use them...   :D

Gracias,

Glenn

I'm a little tired of hearing about this game.

Am I the only one who thinks the whole thing is a bit over-rated?

I seem to have missed what this actually offers over any other pirate/fantasy skirmish...

Well, I'm not sure what the game offers over other pirate/fantasy skirmish rules either but this thread over on the Forum of Doom seems to indicate some rather unbalanced game turns could easily crop up:

http://forum-of-doom.com/index.php?topic=14600.0

I was quite excited about Cutlass! but now I'm a little reluctant to purchase the rulebook - it all seems a bit odd  :? Think I'll hold off until some reviews start appearing. Maybe I just read it wrong.
...and what fresh new hell is this?

This makes me wonder why on earth you are reading this thread? Its like watching a silly show on tv when you really dont like it... change the channel?

I like the idea myself, a bit of fun and good marketing supported by some lovely figures too. Once I scrape some cash together I will pick up the rule and fantasy figures even if to be used for GW legends game as it has ships. I would guess the rules being from a similar stable should translate ok

As no one here has played it yet, I would say that it hasn't been rated at all, let alone overated. As was suggested above, if your not interested why read the thread?

And relax...

Several of you are clearly enthusiastic for this new product. Christian isn't.

Interesting write-up Pretaboire, thank you. Can you shed any light on character/crew generation, or is it all pre-set?

@ Pretaboire

Thanks, I will surely have a look at what you write! :)

I have read your preview and I must say that the game it self seems a bit different when it comes to the game mechanics layout. I am willing to try it out though, and are looking forward to be getting the rules in the mail, should arriwe any day now.

Crew Build seems fairly free
you get $500 you pick a faction and then go from there
there are certain minimums
you have to have a Captain and at least one experienced crew man
thats Marines for my Royal Navy you buy as many or as few crew as you like
then give them gear according to there status .
All very similar to Mordhiem .

It does seem very LOTHS and Mordheim/Necromunda. I did something similar using Necromunda  Gangs and scenarios and LOTHS for the mechanisms for Cave Wars a few years ago they interchange quite freely. :)

I also think that its a bit like Mordheim, but so was Legends of the High Seas, and its not strange at all, considering that the game it was based on, Legends of the Old West also can trace its origin to that game and GW (naturally). I like LotHS, mainly due to its simularity to Mordheim, so I guess I will pehaps like this as well.
We aim to run a test game as soon as it arriwes... *taps foot*

No one here in the Midwest USA has mentioned it yet.  Maybe I can catch the game at a con and try it out

Oh, Galland, PM sent.  All I can say is "residual damage from re-reading old TMP threads" as an excuse for the brain warp.

Looking forward to your AAR.

Gracias,

Glenn

Nice review.  More into Zorro than Pirates but the mechanics seem to have potential.

Gracias,
