Airfix 1/76 WW1 boxed set
« on: January 19, 2011, 04:35:01 PM »
Just seen this boxed set in HobbyCraft which apparently comes with a diorama board with trenches in it, etc

http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/dioramas-and-figures/dioramas/a50060-wwi--the-western-front-gift-set-a50060/

Just wondered if anyone had seen inside the box and know what the trench scenery was like?

thanks

Mike

I haven't got it but there are some close up photos of it here:

It's vac-formed and comes in two identical halves that you glue together, apparently.

I remember it painted up in Bill Brewer's Rye Stamp Shop widow in the early 70s. If you want to trust my rose spectacled memory it looked brilliant!  8)

I loved those to but took a look at the Tommies not long ago. I shouldn't have, they lack all definition.  :?

Considering the fact that the figures in the set will be 45 (!) years old this year, it's not really surprising that they've lost a little of their sharpness.  Happens to all of us.  :D

Thanks for the extra pictures..

I was interested in the scenic part of it, wondering if two of these would ive enough space for a Great War wargame...

Scenery, figures and tanks for £40...
