I present you my last work, two spider mechs from Secrets of the third reich (Westwind). This time I've tried a new wear technique for me (you can see more in my blog).

Nice, especially like the way you blended those silly foot bases into the larger display base. Good bit of weathering there too.

:o Stunning quality!  :-* :-* :-* the weathering makes me go crazy.
It would be great to know something more about what you have done on the basic model. How did you do the base change? What did you add on the basic model?

Agree, that is a bit special. I like how the paint chips pop out!

By the way: your blog is inspiring... I really liked and was amazed by the "multi colour" oil techique you showed. If someone wouldn't like to use oils, could a Vallejo "paint retarder" do the job?

Same for me, I really did not liked the model until now, but your paintjob is just amazing.
What a brutal and realistic look!

Hello,

Thanks you.

You're in luck, I haven't built them!!, they are new models from Westwind miniatures (light and medium mech) :D, including bases.

By the way: your blog is inspiring... I really liked and was amazed by the "multi colour" oil techique you showed. If someone wouldn't like to use oils, could a Vallejo "paint retarder" do the job?

Maybe, but I have never tried it!. Mig Jimenez has a DvD to show how paint weathering only with acrilycs:
