Desert Punk is awesome. While he will do what he can to get the job done is is rude, perverted and just plain a pain in the arse to be around. First seen this series about 2 years ago. Good series, but not the best. Setting wise its a Post Apocalypse, though everything is desert, even the ruins of cities, communities of survivors basically thrive because that where the water is. Unfortunately because the setting is Desert with ruined cities (the ruins are basically now rocks with holes where the windows and doors were, due to the build of of dirt on the buildings exteriors over time) and the occasional oasis settlement, any scenery you do will to me be fairly bland, now you could always have it where Desert Punk and "friends" come across a lush landscape that survived the disaster, with survivors who also survived, and all their cities are still intact.

As for figures to represent Desert Punk you could try out some of the eM4 Scavangers http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/SCAVENGERS.html the Gentleman Scavanger and Scavenger w/ Shotgun, Sword and Straw Hat both might work for a Desert Punk game, I am not sure right off the top of my head other possible figures you could use, though some of the eM4 Savages would work for gangs of the waste that the Punk and "Friends" have to fight.

--- Is it 24 episodes only? Or an ongoing series?

Yeah, and they wrap it up fairly well, I suppose.

He would be my pick for a "Not Desert Punk", but these are all pretty good. Man, I still need to get the guy with the bowler hat.

Nice to see that EM4 are another of those mini companies with online stores where the pictures of their stuff are pretty terrible.

Sure they are by no means the worst pics I've seen on a model manufacturers site but some different angles and bigger pictures would be nice.

Unfortunately it looks like Doug over at eM4 used .gifs for the images instead of .jpgs. He may have done this to save server space since a .gif is typically a smaller file then a .jpg. I know these images are left over from the old site design so who knows maybe Doug will be gettign new ones to go with the new updated site design.

Even though the figures look terrible in some cases the figures are awesome, I have the Female Scavenger (0039) and the Rouge Scavanger (0040) and they are both great little figures, along with the other eM4 minis I have, plus for the age of the sculpts they easily hold their own with newer figures like the Reaper Chronoscope line and Hasslefree (then again iirc most the eM4 Future Wars line were sculpted by the talented Mark Copplestone, so you knwo they are going to be great sculpts even years and years down the road).

--- I second this! I just watched the entire series over the course of two days!

Copplestone has some good Scavengers, in their Future Wars section, that might fit the flavor of the show.

@Eldorf

Yeah what I usually do is if I find an interesting range of miniatures but the shop store has bad pictures I go looking for a painting blog or forum post with better pictures.

Still it is such a simple little thing, just having a wee picture to save space, but that links to bigger pictures and various angles perhaps hosted on another site.

Fiona- If I find a series like Desert Punk I will try and watch as many as I can in one day, which for Desert Punk would be about 12 hours of watching, which is fairly easy when you get down to it, you can easily watch them all on a day off that you don't have anything planned or that you absolutely need to do.

Another good series for a Post Apocalyptic type setting would be Trigun, they have some of the previous technologies but society has mostly reverted to the whole American Western Frontier Society.

I am sure if I sit and think about it I could come up with other Anime series that you could draw some inspiration from such as Akira, Vampire Hunter D (yes it is a post Apocalyptic world), Cowboy Bebop (at least the planet Earth from some of the stuff they have shown of it after the gate was destroyed), among others.
