David,

Nice looking game and miniatures and terrain.... I've admired you work for sometime now.

I play mainly Brother Against Brother in 15mm. I'm hopeless at painting armies

If you're interested in having a look, there are some photos of games we've played at our club posted here.

We occasionally play Brother Against Brother using Indian Mutiny 25mm, but for 15mm ACW we use Civil War Battles by Peter Pig
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

I'm slowly building 28mm armies for Principles of War. I play 15mm Fire and Fury with my friend Mark who has enough stuff to do Gettysburg.

Oh wow - grand  8)  8)  8)
One thing worries me - I've yet to see an ACW modeller and gamer who doesn't do stunning paint jobs or sculpts or conversions or terrain. Amazing stuff all round, guys.

Strangely enough, I'm very interested in the American Civil War, yet have almost zero interest in gaming it. The only exception would be ironclad battles. I'm a sucker for steam-powered gunboat combat.

My friend has a 15mm collection and we have played fire and fury on several occasions.Lots of fun, I for some reason am drawn to the Conferdates more than the Union. Perhaps I am a closet southern  gentleman
Nice stuff Matakishi as well. :)

Ditto - which is why I consider myself lucky to have found Hammerin' Iron II and a bunch of Peter Pig models on a trip to Sheffield.  :)

Here's the only pair completed so far - wearing (of all things) Venetian colours!

I´ve always found the ACW to be an intriguing setting. However, given my personal weaknesses, I KNOW I couldn´t settle for the bare event, I´d have to get a steampunked version.

Or at least do mass skirmish gaming in 28mm using ironclads in that scale as well. :D

Ironclads rule. Period.

Those are Redoubt 28mm, IIRC, possibly their best range of figures & beautifully painted.

I've done PoW demo games with shhhh! Foundry figures and it looked great, so I'm sure yours will be a spectacular sight.

Matakishi, those are seriously lovely looking units. Beautiful job.

Redoubt's F&IW range is also very good - or at least the first 20 or so packs were, then unfortunately they changed sculptors mid-range and went over to squat munchkins in rubbish poses. Boo.

They do make one of the best pirate cannon though.

For some reason ACW is one of the very few periods of military history that just doesn't grab me. Don't know why. Think I played my first ever game of soldiers aged about 7 with Airfix blue and grey plastics (and the artillery set which was in terracotta plastic as it doubled for both sides!) but... Nope. Just doesn't do it for me.  :(

It must surely still be one of the most popular periods though.

I was at the Warfare games show over in Reading earlier today, and half the boxes in the bring and buy sale seemed to be full of ACW figures. And there were several ACW demo games as well.

Or maybe it just felt that way!

My current VSF Armies are based around the ACW. This way I can use my ACW miniatures for both GASLIGHT and BAB and add the VSF units when needed. There are photos here of my ACW-VSF Units:

Very nice stuff you´ve got there! I particularly like the Spider and the GW Paladin converted to a US walker. And is that a Thomas the Tank Engine toy I see as a draft vehicle for the electric cannon?

Yes,

That's Trevor(?) the Tractor. They are perfect for 15mm. I bought about six or seven of them and packed away. I have another vehicle called Fergus but he's not finished.
