Dirty Pair (and Crusher Joe) New Pictures 11/12/11
« on: 30 January 2011, 05:50:02 AM »
I thought I'd post a few pictures of my current project; a tabletop rendition of the classic '80s anime series Dirty Pair.
The infamous Pair themselves

And on hover bikes for the inevitable chase scene

And a research lab to investigate

Reaper mini goon-squad? Check.

Nekkid chicks being experimented on? Check.

Evil Doctors? Check.

Scantily clad protagonists? Check.

Slavish attention to detail? Double check!

Well done! :D

Nice work - the terrain looks particularly well-done; both reminiscent of the serial as well as the Warren comics!

But no Mughi? Tut-tut-tut. ;)

Love the Dirty Pair. Where's Mughi? Great work on the lab. :o I do hope you made lots of damage markers or ruined versions of the terrain pieces :D

Never a big fan of "The Lovely Angels" myself, but you've done a really nice job capturing the look of them. Excellent terrain for a wide variety of scenarios, too.

My daughter picked up a "Dirty Pair" book at an Anime convention.

They appear to be SF novels featuring a team of scantily clad, nubile, sexually hyper and quite dangerous space cops. ???

Lovely terrain though. Could be good for all sorts of games from James Bond to Aliens or even Star Wars!

Don't confuse the recent American manga version by Adam Warren with the original anime version- Warren's take on them is much more sexy and hyper, the original 1980s anime films have much more plot (although the Dirty Pair still leave a trail of destruction in their wake in any incarnation...).

I seem to have forgotten to include pictures of Mughi. I'd better fix that before his fan club gets upset.  ;)

He's the short, dark and tentacled one in the middle. :)

I've also finished a new version of Yuri, throwing her Bloody Card, but she's a bit bigger than Kei, so I can't use her until I do a new Kei conversion.

Finally, I finished a couple air cars for games outside the lab.

The lab set uses some resin pieces from Armorcast and JR Miniatures, but the rooms and hallways are scratch built out of foam core and plastic sheet. They're designed to be modular.
