Bad hobby night.  Decided to prep and prime the second set of guys for the Round 10 entry.  As I was doing some weapon swaps, I dropped a mini and lost a hand that flew off somewhere.  My wife (God bless her) and I are crawling around on the floor for 10 minutes until I realize that I didn't drop the one that I thought I did and the hand that we are looking for is still attached to the mini.  The actual piece that was missing was found about 15 seconds into the search, but I was looking for something else so we kept searching.

After repairs and reassembly, I barely got the minis primed, so I'm not going to get any painting done tonight...  Bad start for the 12 I need for the end of the league...

Well thats round ten in! Only thing left now is to wait until next week. I don't know about the rest of you, but I was finding it really difficult to keep up the pace. I've learned loads off of everybody in the comp. Next year I'll be better prepared.

Preparation helps you to have entries for about 7 rounds but it doesn't arm you for a row of contingencies which you can be sure will crop up.

A raging cold is certainly making these last few figures a real challenge.  :(

One thing about this contest though , it really has improved my painting time and overall quality relative to where I was at in February.

It didn't do much for reducing the lead pile as I keep seeing other great figures to buy while voting.  :)

Its been a really good experience and I've learned a lot. I've made quite a dent in the original lead pile particularly as I tried to make sure that I was completing units rather than just 5 figures, the only problem is that I bought additional figures for particular rounds so created a bit of a new one

I'm really struggling with my last entry through jetlag, I'm off today, weather is crap so cannot play golf and have got the bulk of the entry finished. I'm going to have to wait until Saturday to take pics though as I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, problem is I'm working Sat am but luckily NZ is ahead timewise :)

I agree, this has been a great experience. I would definitely do another one, though would take a little more time to prep!

My round 10 is very much on the rocks, and I think it will end up as a re-entry, which is a big pity, as I had a good one planned, it is just the lack of time and energy for the painting that has let me down.

Anyway, I have really enjoyed the comp and seeing the entries, even managed to put up some strong ones in the early rounds!

Great fun all round.

Next year I must try harder!
Saving the last bullet... just in case.

Mine will be a last minute thing, sorry  :(
Got the scenery more or less finished. Got one team just to finish basing. Half the other team are finished and would have been enough to count as a full team but I felt I needed to add to it to make the scene look right.
Also my son got Xbox live for his birthday so I have been busy playing Black Ops and Halo :D

I'll be submitting a Round 10 entry, although it won't be related to movies.  It'll probably be at the last minute, because fate seems to be conspiring against me; my brushes are on their last legs and hardly hold paint, and I ran out of Dulcote in Round 8.  But there WILL be a new entry in Round 10.   >:(

Well, just sent in my round 10 entry, I finished painting and flocking the last figures today and now that I've photographed them they are ready for their first coat of varnish (gloss). I'm looking forward to this last round of the LPL, it's bound to be spectacular!
