Some poorly painted figures

Warlord Band of Clubmen. Normally I love their work, but these were a real effort. Awful paintjob on my part. Oh well. Enjoy!

Not so bad.  :)

A few years ago, before the internet and numerical cameras, there was no need for very precise painting because you could not see little details from a distance.

But now, close pics of the miniatures are displayed on the web, so people like me have to keep their miniatures hidden. :'(

What a cool looking mob! Don't beat yourself up about the paint job; they look damn decent to moi... a lot of character. WELL DONE!

paint job, schmaint job - they'll be fine on the table and that's where they belong!  And I'd be happy with the paint job.   ;D

Me too - way better painted than any of my figures.

That's why I've never invested in a digital camera!

However, as long as we're satisfied with the results of our efforts thats all that really matters and meanwhile we can still dream of reaching the standards of some this forums members!

THey look great mate, what you need to bear in mind is a lot of talented people post on this forum which is out of proportion to the thousands of mere mortals like myself who do an ok job.  It can be a bit daunting but dont put yourself down.

This is one forum where they appreciate the effort you put in and if there is any cirticism is is positive 100%

They look alright to me, they're a long way from awful.  8)

Got to agree with everyone. They are well painted to "wargames-standard". Not LPL winners but perfect for gaming with. Nice bases too!

There are many here who can be called geniuses as painters - for the rest of us, if it looks good in a game then that's all you need. I'd be happy to turn out figures at this standard  :)

Thanks guys! Makes me feel better about the effort. Yeah, they'll not exactly win a second look at a competition, but I'm glad to know they're not an embarrassment to minis either.

Now to work on the rest of the army...

There are no poorly painted figures. Just poor figures that never get painted.
This nicely painted mob can sail on my ships any day. Have them drink lots of rum, pass out at the dock and my press gang will do the rest.

Self deprecation as an attempt to gain notice/acclaim?
Those pieces are fantastic! I'm like Patrice, I used to think I did a good job untill I came here, now, I just gotta hide mine too.
