I am soooooo looking forward to this one!

All the books integrated into a whole plus more rules for aerial craft and fleet battles!!

Ahhhh approaching VSF Nirvana (Brain release more endorphins!)

Cheers

Fuzzy.
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

I'll tell you one thing Buck Surdu has let out of the bag that has me pretty excited, though it my be a bit of downside for the "I must have a rigorous structure ala Evil Empire":

...I think players
will get a good set of rules, some new stuff, and some eye candy. The layout of
the book will be almost like a Chinese menu, in that the different command and
control mechanisms are together, the different firing mechanisms are together,
etc. In developing the various supplements we worked very hard to ensure they
were consistent with each other so that you could use the Battles activation
system with basic GASLIGHT, for instance, or the normal GASLIGHT shooting with
the Battles activation.

Hey Buck, that sounds excellent. Good job!

Wish I waited to buy the other 3 books, which I got the other day! ::)

Take a look at http://www.bucksurdu.com/Buck_Surdu/G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T..html

Make sure you view the two short movies!

The book goes to the printer tomorrow.  It will take a couple of weeks to get the first proof back, they tell me.  We are on track for a June release as planned.  The .pdf will probably be available a little sooner.  We're not sure how to time that release, whether too early will poach book sales or will (hopefully) positive comments on the .pdf boost book sales?  There's probably no authoritative answer.

Buck Surdu

P.S.  Before you ask, we're not releasing any information about the model.   ;)

I hope you won't be disappointed.  We're very happy with the result, but we don't really get to vote. ;)

Absolutely!

If your fleet battles are all on the surface, a lot of the three-dimensional rules can be ignored.  The fleet battles rules work really well for large sea battles.

Thats really all I want from rules!!!!
I'll use 15mm for this. My dream is double board where 1/2 water and 1/2 land. Naval battle on land, crew on each ship firing wach other and make boarding actions. Landing parties goes to shore to fight gun battery. Airplanes flying around, Aeronefs, land battles with Victorian troops plus steam contraptions! AMAZING!

The Fleet Battles rules use the Battles by GASLIGHT activation, so you should have no trouble combing a land game with a sea/air game.

I've been putting together the bits to do an arctic type game on an inceberg that will be held about two feet off the table so that I can have an underwater game going on simultaneously.  It will be a couple of years before it's ready for the table, but it sure seems like it will be fun.

The proof came back from the printer today.  It looks great.  On track for delivery of the hard-cover books some time next month!   :-*

Just putting in a post to get notifications, here. Am interested in reactions when people start reading the actual rules.  :)  Have the old books, but might consider an upgrade, if improvements justify it.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
