Good to see your log back. While I never commented a lot, I have really enjoyed your work and it's plain to see the love and enthusiasm you pour into your miniatures. It's a credit to the hobby and inspiring to watch. Hope things outside the hobby progress as well as they may, ideally better.

Thank you for your kind reply, Knight Captain Tyr. I am happy you enjoy my posts. I am poor at commenting also; this something I hope to remedy.
Paint &, more recently, sculpting for me is true love; it is one thing that has endured & grown with the years. I am glad that it shows.

Thank you, Tactalvanic. I am looking forward to how the Beasties turn out as well. It is one of those pieces that will remain a mystery until it is almost completed. I have the Swamp Thing & Troll glued down on a round wooden base surrounded by three small hummocks thus far. Where it goes from here is anyone's guess.

Some progress: the base is coming along. The hummocks have been added, swamp water sculpted, & the base coat has been applied:

More later...or not.

AND the base is approaching completion. The addition of some moss should finish it.

...then on to the painting...eventually.

He does not look like a happy camper.

Delighted to see the Master of all things Mushroomy back on the forum! You have been missed Deafnala. Lovely to see more swampy, mushroomy stuff and other things that go squelch in the night being added to this glorious thread.

Thank you for a very kind reply, Thew 1! I am pleasantly surprised that I was missed by so many people. AND I am happy you are enjoying my stuff.

The hummocks are now sporting some moss:

Painting is imminent...once I come up with the colos.

Thanks, Bret. I am looking forward to how it turns out also. The color scheme is yet to be decided, but I started doing the groundwork yesterday.

Turns out nice. Could you please say a few words about the moss you are using? Looks very natural.

The moss is a mix of Super Leaf & Woodland Scenics coarse turf. I glue it down with one of those fast drying epoxy glue, Gorilla Glue in this case, & hit it with an accelerator (Zip Kick), That gives it a bit of stiffness that makes it easier to paint. I hope that that made sense.

Yes. Thanks! It gives a very interesting texture. Stiff as you said, yet looking fresh. Could even remain unpainted, me thinks.
