b]AND[/b] an update: the monochrome is largely completed barring some touching up; some details have been included with more planned. This how it looks thus far:

...some glowing moss/fungus:

...The Pit:

...some creepiness:

...up close:

...more creepiness:

...up close:

...there you go. The next step will be adding some more details in mono & color. The eyes willl probably get some color to them as well.

As always, the eyes have it.

Thanks, Fram...I must admit that I have a fondness for the eyes myself. As part of this post, I have an update...the eyes are now in color...still strange though.

Thanks for the reply & the idea, blackstone. I'm glad you like The Stalagmites; AND, I had forgotten about Ropers...I'll give them a try.

SO for some Sin City contrast, I added spots of color.
The Glowing Mold:

...The Eye:

...AND The Eyes:

There will be more spots of glorious color details, but this is where we stand thus far.

This swan song is a Ring Cycle in its proportions. Love it.

I just finished the first of my removable details; i.e., The Eye in The Pit:
...by itself:

...in The Pit:

...pretty creepy, eh? With the possible addition of tentacles, the creepiness may become more pronounced.

Thanks for the reply, Modhail...the motivation is appreciated. There is something upsetting about a fiery, disembodied eye, especially one that's staring at you from the depth of a pit...I've got to add those tentacles.

Great stuff, Al!
I reckon that a monochrome photo booth with flashes of colour is a great idea, topped off brilliantly by the 'EYE'!

Thanks, LordOdo! I'm hoping to gt the tentacles in place later today. I got hung up on trying to think of a way to make them removable...no luck on that. Once they're in place, I can agonize about color.

Great stuff, Al!

Thanks, Paul. The Camera seems to like the black & white background...for the most part. The color spots & Sin City look is in no small part due to the suggestions I've gotten on this & a couple other fora...feedback is a major source of inspiration & motivation.
